Here are a few details on where I stand on some important issues in Baltimore County Schools
One Word: Accountability
It's time for Baltimore County Schools to focus on our children's education, safety and learning environment. We must make sure our tax dollars are reaching the children and teachers. We must raise expectations and not allow Safety and respecting teachers optional. We must have Zero tolerance in our schools. As your next elected school board member for district 6, I WILL be tough on crime and violence in our Baltimore County schools. Partner with me today!
The top issues I will focus on:
Safety
​The safety of students and staff is the top priority. Students who repeatedly endanger others through physical aggression will be removed from the traditional school setting and referred to increasingly restrictive environments, up to and including involvement with the juvenile justice system when legally warranted.
Expectations
We will set high standards and expectations for every Baltimore County student and hold firm to them. We will not pass students forward without the skills they need to succeed. Every child will meet reading expectations by 4th grade through strong instruction, early support, and accountability at every level.
Learning Enviornment
​Every child deserves to learn in an environment where they are encouraged to exceed expectations—not just meet the minimum. Students should be able to clearly hear and engage with instruction, feel comfortable asking questions, and be fully supported by staff and leadership.
Education
We will hold both students and parents accountable for disruptive behavior, disrespect toward teachers, and any physical aggression toward others. At the same time, we will ensure every teacher is equipped with the tools, training, and support needed to deliver a high-quality education. We will expand opportunities for our students by strengthening access to trade schools, cadet programs, and career pathways including firefighting, mechanics, and other skilled professions. We will also build partnerships with local small businesses and increase access to positive, structured after-school programs that guide and support our youth.
