A Stronger Voice for Baltimore County Families

ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
A strong education is one of the most powerful ways to improve the lives of our children in Baltimore County. As someone born and raised here by a single mother, I experienced firsthand the challenges many of our students still face today.
Growing up in a neighborhood surrounded by violence, drugs, and instability made it difficult for me to fully engage and succeed in a traditional school environment during my early years.
When I entered middle school, I became the first child in my family to attend the local alternative school, West Inverness. That experience was life-changing. It gave me the structure and tools I needed to succeed—helping me understand expectations, develop discipline, and learn critical skills like conflict resolution. It showed me that with the right support system, every child has the potential to thrive.
My passion for helping young people has shaped the last eight years of my life as the Director of Operations for the Baltimore Youth Coalition, a local youth mentorship program. Every Friday night, I work directly with students and families, listening to their experiences and concerns. What I hear consistently is troubling: ongoing violence, frequent fights, the presence of weapons in schools, low expectations, and gaps in educational quality.
These realities make one thing clear—change is needed in Baltimore County Schools. Our children deserve safe learning environments, higher standards, and meaningful support systems that help them reach their full potential. I am committed to being part of that change and ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to succeed.
We need leaders who truly understand our community—leaders who can empathize, inspire, communicate effectively, and take pride in serving others. With your support, we can restore and revive our schools by prioritizing what matters most: our children’s education, safety, and mental health.
This means setting high standards and expectations for everyone—students, parents, and the system alike.
We must hold individuals accountable when their actions bring violence and disruption into our schools, while also providing the guidance and support needed to help them succeed. Safety can no longer be optional—it must be non-negotiable. We must demand it and ensure it is upheld every single day.
I am committed to building strong partnerships with local community programs, mentors, and our dedicated law enforcement officers—who play a vital role in keeping our schools and neighborhoods safe. At the same time, we must listen to our teachers. They are on the front lines every day, and they deserve the tools, resources, and respect necessary to do their jobs effectively.
Together, by raising expectations, strengthening accountability, and investing in the people who support our youth, we can build a stronger, safer, and more successful future for every child in Baltimore County.
